The second album *Zabiť Františka* is the result of a very organic artistic and personal development that the author has gone through since his eponymous debut three years ago.
Samuel Kovalčík has progressed musically, learning to play new instruments, using new guitar playing techniques, and letting the things he listens to and is influenced by in his everyday life flow through him.
From a musical perspective, the album features Central European motifs, as well as Phrygian guitar scales, blues, and subtle references to artists like Adrianne Lenker, Elliott Smith, Radiohead, and even Baroque music.
Despite this, the album remains compact, and the range of instrumentation rarely exceeds the number of fingers on one hand.
From a lyrical standpoint, it offers very personal statements, through which Samuel holds up a mirror to our society, exploring interpersonal relationships and reflecting on themes such as the crisis of masculinity and the current events in Ukraine and Russia.
Album was supported using public funding by Slovak Arts Council. It was also financially supported by The Slovak Music Fund and The Social and Cultural Fund of SOZA.
